The Brigantine story began in 1969, when the Morton family opened a small seafood and oyster bar in Point Loma. What started as a neighborhood gem has grown into a vibrant family of restaurants—each one serving up the best of San Diego in every plate. Today, we’re proud to operate 23 restaurants across 14 locations, including our own brewery, coffee shop, and counter-service concepts. Whether it’s surf and turf at The Brig, street tacos at Miguel’s, or an award-winning lager from Ketch Brewing, everything we do comes from the heart—with fresh ingredients, friendly service, and a whole lot of local love.
Where It All BeganOur flagship concept opened its doors in Point Loma in 1969. Known affectionately as “The Brig,” it quickly became a local staple for fresh seafood, hearty surf and turf, and warm hospitality. Decades later, with 8 locations and countless celebrations under our belt, The Brig remains the heart of our family—rooted in tradition, yet always ready to raise a glass to what’s next.
A Taste For LifeIn 1982, inspired by the vibrant flavors of Baja, we opened Miguel’s Cocina. With recipes passed down from friends and family, hand-pressed tortillas, and a signature creamy jalapeño white sauce that regulars lovingly call “white gold,” Miguel’s brings authentic Mexican cuisine with a Cali twist. Five locations strong and always full of color, Miguel’s is a joyful celebration of food, culture, and community.

Born From Obsession & Driven By Pure Enjoyment Ketch Brewing started with a simple idea: make beer that tastes as good as the moment you’re in. Led by award-winning head brewer Dr. Sam Billheimer—whose background spans oceanography, Alaska fishing boats, and San Diego brew halls—our beer is where science meets soul. Each batch is brewed in-house with an obsessive focus on style, balance, and drinkability.

We use only the finest ingredients and locally roasted beans from Cafe Moto to create our one-of-a-kind drinks and desserts.
