Welcome aboard The Brigantine Seafood Restaurants! It is here that San Diegans and many enthusiastic tourists will find the seafood experience they've long been craving. Whether indulging in our award-winning "Best Swordfish in the World" or classic fish tacos, a visit to our Brigantine Seafood Restaurants will be a voyage to remember!
Created by husband-and-wife team Mike and Barbara Morton, the first Brigantine Seafood Restaurant opened in 1969 on Shelter Island, its name the result of a ticket drawn from a hat. In 1973, the Morton family opened its second Brigantine Seafood Restaurant on Coronado Island. Across from the historic Hotel Del Coronado, this second location garnered many happy diners, and marked a point at which The Brigantine secured its name as a quickly growing San Diego eatery.
Today, The Brigantine Seafood Restaurants boast seven busy locations throughout the county, from Coronado to Del Mar and five communities in between, making it easy for all to enjoy the ambiance and fare of Brigantine Seafood. As an interesting side note, founder Mike Morton played a large part in coining the term "Catch of the Day," which is now seen on seafood menus across the globe.
Although the initial Brigantine Seafood menu featured a mere nine items, any of our many enthusiasts knows that it has, in current times, been upgraded to a multi-faceted menu of top notch surf and turf options. Be enticed by our grilled marinated swordfish, crab-stuffed shrimp, or feast your eyes on our classic filet mignon, baby back ribs, or grilled Mahi Mahi tacos. Whatever your fancy, The Brigantine Seafood Restaurant will deliver the freshest catch you've ever tasted!
