San Diego, CA – September 2, 2014 – The Brigantine, Inc. announced that it has reached an agreement to sell The Steakhouse at Azul La Jolla (“Azul”) to Donovan’s Prime Steakhouse Restaurants.  The deal is scheduled to close at the end of 2014 or early 2015.  Azul will cease operations immediately to prepare for the transition in ownership.

The Brigantine, Inc. President and CEO Mike Morton, Jr. said, “We wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of our guests and hardworking staff that have supported Azul over the past 15 years.  Donovan’s will be a great addition to Prospect Street and we wish them continued success at their new location.”  Morton also stated that the sale of Azul will allow Brigantine, Inc. to focus all of its attention on its core brands of Brigantine and Miguel’s.  “Our history lies in the Brigantine and Miguel’s brands and we will continue to modernize existing facilities and look for new opportunities to continue to bring outstanding food and service to our guests.”

Brigantine Inc. operates 12 restaurants in San Diego County, including six Brigantine Seafood and Oyster Bar locations and six Miguel’s Cocina locations.
